Plan your visit

The San Andrés Gate houses the City Wall Information Centre, where you can discover all the secrets of the wall surrounding the city of Segovia.

 

It is open Monday to Sunday from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, with last admission at 1.45 pm.

We recommend visiting the museum between 10:00 and 11:00. For an even more peaceful experience, please visit us on a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday during the low season (October to March).

The museum is closed only on 1 and 6 January and 25 December.

You can get there by taking lines 6 and 10 of Urbanos de Segovia. The relevant stops are Paseo del Salón and Alcázar, which are just 260 and 380 metres from the entrance, respectively.

Yes, there is a restricted parking zone (O.R.A.) in the vicinity of Puerta de San Andrés.

It operates Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 2.00 pm and from 4.30 pm to 8.00 pm; parking is free on Sundays and public holidays.

No, access is via stairs, which make it impossible to enter.

If you have a pushchair, you can leave it at the ‘La Muralla’ Tourist Information Point whilst you visit. We recommend using a baby carrier instead.

Yes, all well-behaved pets are welcome in the museum.

Pets must be kept on a lead at all times and under the control of their owner.

No, the museum does not have luggage lockers or a cloakroom.

Yes, you can access the Puerta de Santiago, which houses the Francisco Peralta Puppet Collection and the Segovia Museum. You will need to purchase a separate ticket for both, in accordance with the museum’s terms and conditions.

Tickets

Prices vary depending on age and ticket type.

  • Standard admission is €2 for adults aged 25 and over.
  • Visitors aged 65 and over pay a reduced rate of €1.
  • Children under 12 get in free.

With your ticket, you can visit the area inside the gate itself, where the City Wall Information Centre is located. You will also walk for around 150 metres along the rampart walk, enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Yes, paying members of large families (subject to proof of their status) are entitled to reduced-price admission at a cost of one euro.

Admission is charged for visitors aged 12 and over. However, the museum offers free admission to all visitors every Wednesday (provided it is not a public holiday).

In addition, the following groups are entitled to free admission at all times (subject to proof of eligibility):

  • Official tourist guides
  • Journalists.
  • People with disabilities.
  • Teachers.

Furthermore, taking part in any of the guided tours in the ‘Discover Segovia’ programme entitles you to free entry to the Puerta de San Andrés for 48 hours following the time of your booked tour.

We recommend booking in advance to guarantee entry and save time, especially during the high season.

All tickets for the Puerta de San Andrés have a fixed time slot. They are valid only for the date and time slot selected during the booking process. Once inside, the ticket is valid until the museum closes.

Tickets come with a free cancellation policy up to 24 hours before the scheduled date, guaranteeing a full refund.

Yes, at the ‘La Muralla’ Tourist Information Point you can purchase the museum and heritage, art and culture pass, which allows you to visit the Puerta de San Andrés and four other sites at a very affordable price.

Activities

Yes, the site is part of the ‘Discover Segovia’ programme, organised by Segovia Tourism. Specifically, it is included as the final stop on the ‘Discover the Jewish Quarter’ and ‘Hidden Segovia’ tours.

If you are a teacher, the ‘Places Steeped in History’ guided tour programme is always available to you. Its aim is to deepen your understanding of our city’s unique sites at an irresistible price. We tailor these guided tours to suit different educational levels.

The tour costs €2 per pupil, lasts around 30 minutes and has a capacity of 30 people (if the number of people exceeds this limit, it is possible to split the group into two to carry out the tour simultaneously).

Yes, there are activities aimed at children. We invite children aged 6 to 14 to explore the city walls through a paper treasure hunt, which will allow them to learn in an active way. This creative activity will enable them to learn in a fun and interactive way.

Yes, audio guides are available for touring the Wall, at a cost of6 euros per device. These audio guides are available in Spanish and English.
