Discovering the foundations of modern chemistry 

End of the 18th century. 

Created by Charles III, who commissioned it to serve the Royal Artillery College, it was the first Royal Chemistry Laboratory in Spain and it was here that the French scientist Louis Proust discovered Proust's Law or the Law of Definite Proportions. 

This building is located on the esplanade of the Alcazar and is currently part of its premises. It is also where the Alcazar ticket office is located.
