Places steeped in history

This special offer, entitled ‘Places steeped in history’, is a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the following monuments and tourist attractions at an unbeatable price.

Aqueduct

The aim of this tour is to explore in detail this masterpiece of Roman hydraulic engineering, during which your students will learn about the history of its construction, its use, and how the city has coexisted with this World Heritage Site since 1985.

Antonio Machado House-Museum

A visit to the guesthouse where the poet lived from 1919 to 1931 will transport your students back in time thanks to his portraits, mementos, furniture, and images of Leonor and Guiomar – in short, the memory of his time in the city and the atmosphere of the era.

Linked to this visit, the Antonio Machado Route is available, on which your pupils will follow in the footsteps of the Sevillian poet during his years in Segovia.

Royal Mint and Aqueduct Interpretation Centre

Combine the guided tour with:

Royal Mint Museum: This is one of the oldest industrial buildings in Europe, founded in 1583 by King Philip II. Your pupils will learn about the coin-making process at Spain’s first mechanised mint.

Acueducto Interpretation Centre: A modern interactive and multimedia space which, using water as its central theme, will guide your pupils along the more than 15 kilometres of the world’s best-preserved Roman aqueduct. The Aqueduct was also the mint mark used on coins minted in Segovia.

Jewish Quarter Educational Centre

With a visit to this museum, located in the palace of Abraham Senneor—a distinguished figure of Segovia’s Jewish community and accountant to the Catholic Monarchs—your pupils will gain a broad insight into Jewish culture through various audiovisual aids and materials.

San Andrés Gate

The Wall of Segovia, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1941, retains its original 11th-century layout in its entirety. Your pupils will be able to walk along the ramparts and visit the Wall Information Centre where they will rediscover the history of this structure.

Here we offer a unique tour, consisting of two parts. It will begin with a short guided tour, after which your pupils will be given a treasure hunt to complete in the shortest time possible. In this way, they will develop skills such as observation and concentration, and discover for themselves details of the Wall previously unknown to them.

Francisco Peralta’s Puppet Collection (Puerta de Santiago)

Master Peralta’s puppet collection is housed in one of the city wall gates, the Puerta de Santiago. Your pupils will discover the work of one of Spain’s finest puppeteers, renowned above all for his constant research into mechanisms designed to achieve greater expressiveness and more natural, complex movements, thereby breathing life into the puppets.

The prices shown apply to students aged 25 and under, upon presentation of a student card.
