If you are a teacher and you are looking for an entertaining, different and at the same time educational activity to do with your students, we propose you one:
A guided visit to the Francisco Peralta Puppet Collection!!!
Francisco Peralta was born in Cádiz in 1930 and worked as a modelling teacher at the Santa María de las Nieves School in Madrid, and for 4 years, he worked as a teacher at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts located in the Casa de los Picos, in Segovia.
It is also important to point out that his final dissertation was on the pedagogical applications of puppetry, and that in 1990 he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit in Fine Arts.
38 puppets await you in the museum, representing characters from works from the Romancero Popular, such as ‘El Romance de la Condesita’; from musical plots by established authors, such as ‘Bastian and Bastiana’, written by Mozart at the age of 12; or from ‘El Retablo de Maese Pedro’, which appears in Don Quixote, and to which Manuel de Falla put the music. As well as works of classical literature and children's fiction of particular quality.
With this visit you will learn more about the world of puppets, because in addition to the stories of each one, we will tell you curiosities about their construction and manipulation to achieve ‘give life’ to these puppets.
These guided visits take place from Wednesday to Friday at 10:00h, with a minimum of 12 people and a maximum of 20 (per pass).
The price per pupil is €3 (teachers free) and they last approximately 40 minutes. * The visits can be adapted according to the needs of the group.
