San Roque Gardens

Header image

Located on Paseo Ezequiel González, the San Roque Gardens are one of the oldest green spaces in Segovia, open to the public since 1872. They owe their name to an old chapel dedicated to Saint Roch, the patron saint against the plague. Throughout its history, the gardens have been remodeled several times, notably with the installation in 1958 of a monument to the sculptor Aniceto Marinas, created by Mariano Benlliure. Today, they feature a renovated playground and, in the summer, cultural activities such as the “Summer Libraries,” which encourage reading outdoors. An ideal spot for relaxation and a stroll right in the heart of the city.
