The Garden of Words and Cherry Trees
The Garden of Words and Cherry Trees is located in the Delibes Garden, on the North Wall. It is a beautiful spot, open to the public, where words and trees share the spotlight. This space features a grove of cherry trees and words in Japanese characters engraved in stone, which define and symbolize the pillars of unity among all peoples of the earth, between humanity and nature, and between our generation and those who will follow us eternally. This garden represents a new fusion between time and space, between East and West, principles and ideas chosen jointly by the Japanese calligrapher Tomoko Miyamoto and the staff of the Environment Department of the Segovia City Council. All of them are written in Spanish and in the pictorial language of Japanese kanji, a type of Eastern writing that invites reflection.
If you are interested in this garden, you can purchase a publication titled “Las palabras y los cerezos” at locations managed by the municipal tourism company.
