Header image

Built in the late 19th century by the municipal architect Joaquín de Odriozola, it served a variety of purposes, including as a penitentiary hospital and the Segovia Central Women’s Prison, before going on to house numerous anti-Franco activists.

It currently houses a multidisciplinary space (under the name La Cárcel_ Segovia Centro de Creación) dedicated to fostering artistic creation, promoting the creative industries in Segovia and developing everyone’s creativity as a form of personal fulfilment.
