Juan Bravo Theatre

Header image

This building is listed in the National Assets of Cultural Interest.

Construction of the theatre began in 1915. Its floor plan is typical of an Italian Baroque theatre with three successive spaces: the rectangular foyer, the horseshoe-shaped auditorium and the stage.

The foyer has two circular staircases on either side. The auditorium consists of the stalls and narrow wooden-floored boxes supported by cast-iron columns that run all the way around the wall. The back of the building is made up of three areas, the central performance area and two side areas, the north side containing the dressing rooms and the south side a storage room.

The ceiling of the central space and the mouth of the stage are decorated with fresco paintings by the painter Lope Tablada Maeso
