Old Jewish Cemetery

The Jewish cemetery was located on the left bank of the Clamores stream and covered the walled area between the San Andrés Gate and the Casa del Sol. It extends over a hill known as ‘el Pinarillo’ along the Clamores valley, where anthropomorphic tombs and burial chambers carved into the rock can be seen, as well as a magnificent panoramic view of the Jewish quarter.
It is not possible to establish a chronological date with any degree of accuracy given the absence of tombstones that could provide us with any information. However, it is possible to know the orientation of the tombs (head - west and feet - east) after successive archaeological campaigns.
