Old Jewish Cemetery

The Jewish cemetery was situated on the left bank of the Clamores stream and covered the walled area between the Puerta de San Andrés and the Casa del Sol. It stretches across a hill known as “el Pinarillo” along the Clamores valley, where anthropomorphic tombs and burial chambers carved into the rock can be seen, as well as a magnificent panoramic view of the Jewish quarter.
It is not possible to establish a chronological date with any degree of accuracy given the absence of tombstones that might provide information. However, it is possible to determine the orientation of the tombs (head to the west and feet to the east) following successive archaeological campaigns.
