Convent of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Tomb of St John of the Cross)

16th century. Founded by St John of the Cross in 1586, who helped to build it with his own hands. It houses his tomb, which was visited by Pope St John Paul II in 1982.

A cypress tree remains, which, according to tradition, was planted by the mystic saint next to the hermitage that served as his spiritual refuge. Ruins of the Trinitarian convent of Santa María de Rocamador (13th century).

Occupied by Discalced Carmelite Fathers.
