7. Church Of Saint Martin
This building is listed in the National Assets of Cultural Interest.
This splendid church features all that is remarkable about Castilian Romanesque architecture. It is defined by a triple atrium of columns and three apses, a Mudejar (Hispano-Muslim style of masonry) tower that occupies the space of the dome. The carved capitals, the marble plaque with the effigy of Saint Martin located on the outside of the apse and the four column statues on the façade, are all of great beauty and interest.
Inside the church, you may admire a triptych by the Flemish painter Adrian Isembrandt, several paintings by the primitive Castilian known as the Master of the 11,000 virgins, as well as sculptures of Recumbent Christ attributed to Gregorio Fernández and of Saint Francis by Pedro de Mena.
