Church of St Martin

Header image

Designated a Site of Cultural Interest.

This splendid church, a fine example of Castilian Romanesque architecture, is characterised by a triple colonnaded atrium and three apses, with a Mudejar tower occupying the space of the dome. Of particular interest are the carved capitals, the marble plaque bearing the effigy of Saint Martin located on the exterior of the apse, and the four column statues on the façade.

Inside, visitors can admire a triptych by the Flemish painter Adrián Isembrandt, several paintings by the early Castilian artist known as the Master of the 11,000 Virgins, a Reclining Christ attributed to Gregorio Fernández and a Saint Francis by Pedro de Mena.
